Cold Spring, Ky. – DAV (Disabled American Veterans) and Veteran Tickets Foundation (Vet Tix) announced today announced a partnership to expand both organizations’ reach in the military and veteran communities, providing opportunities for veterans, military and families to connect through a wide range of free community events.

Vet Tix has served the military community since 2008 with resources and opportunities for reintegration through community-based events. Veterans, service members and families of those killed in action can sign up to receive no-cost tickets to major sporting games, concerts and a range of other events in the performing arts. Vet Tix has distributed over 2.8 million tickets to more than 500,000 Vet Tixers.

DAV and Vet Tix understand the importance of providing for disabled service members and veterans, and will work in partnership to increase the number of veterans with a service-connected disability who have access to free community events through Vet Tix.

“One of the most critical elements of the physical and emotional healing process for injured and ill veterans is connection to a strong social network,” said Marc Burgess, DAV National Adjutant and CEO. “Vet Tix is really doing a great service to veterans by helping keep them engaged and we’re proud to be working alongside them.”

DAV is a nonprofit that provides a lifetime of support for veterans of all generations and their families. The organization helps more than one million veterans each year, representing them and assisting with claims for earned benefits, providing no-cost rides to attend VA medical appointments and connecting them with employment opportunities.

The DAV Charitable Service Trust (CST), an independent 501(c)(3) organization that provides grants to support services not offered by DAV, has already awarded Vet Tix with two grants which will assist in increasing the number of tickets available for deserving veterans and their families. DAV and Vet Tix are also working closely with major ticket donors to find accessible seating for any disabled Vet Tixer or family member who may need specific accommodations to successfully attend an event.

“Our new partnership with DAV will continue to bring veterans and service members together in their communities, which is an essential aspect of positive reintegration,” said Mike Focareto, CEO of Vet Tix. “When a disabled veteran may need some extra care and assistance to successfully attend an event, Vet Tix can serve as an advocate for that veteran and their family.”
